Most people think they understand leadership. Heck, there are a gazillion books written on the subject. Yet, few ever really lead effectively.
We think leadership has to do with possessing certain characteristics and personal attributes. It doesn’t. You don’t have to be compassionate, disciplined, possess integrity, be charismatic or be a good team builder to lead effectively. Despite what everyone else says, being effective as a leader requires that we effectively engage in two very specific behaviors.
When you do these two things well…you will lead effectively.
